JUNIOR INTERNSHIP
At the end of our Junior year, High Tech students are given the opportunity to pursue a month-long internship. The requirements are that you work approximately a full work week (30-40 hours) and mentor under a graduate. We are given the freedom to work wherever we want, as long as we apply for the internship ourselves. Throughout the work study course, we learn how to write cover letters to possible employers and showcase our skills on our resume.
For my junior internship, I am mentoring under Mrs. Daisy Sharrock, who works for the Center of Research for Equity & Innovation at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. During my internship, I will be working to improve the High Tech High organization's education system, by structuring new methods of teaching, working to implement these practices at workshops and conferences, as well analyzing data from the organization's database. I look forward to the next few weeks here at the research center. Follow along with me on my internship blog.
