CATAPULT SCALE DRAWING
This sketch drawing is called a scale drawing, in fact it's more than just a regular sketch. For this piece of the design process I had to create a scale drawing, which means you take the measurements of the real product you want to make and draw out the same measurements on a smaller ratio called a scale. The scale I used above is a 1 inch to 1 foot ratio. So for every inch there is on the page, it will be 1 foot in real life when I assemble the catapult. I also created labels next to each piece of the object, to make it easier for me to know how many inches it will be in real life. This scale drawing is probably as important as the idea of the type of catapult you want to create itself, because it is where you figure out what materials you need and if the materials you plan on using will work together. This is almost as great as testing out the product once it is built to see if it has any flaws in construction. When you are drawing a scale drawing you may find some mistakes in your plan, so it gives you time to revise while avoiding wasting money and time it you were to build it and then figure out it did not work. More commonly known as blueprints, scale drawings provide a greater preparation into building your product as it transitions you from a conceptual idea to a more concrete plan before building your product.
