HOLOCAUST REMEBRANCE
In memory of the 1.1 million people killed during the Holocaust., our class decided to do some research on some of the stories lost during the war and even some of the few survivors of World War II. On January 27, 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, located in Poland, was liberated by the Russians advancing on the Nazis. On that day 7,000 people were released from this camp. Nowadays, January 27th is the international remembrance day of the hundred thousands of innocent people who were lost. In great respects, each of my classmates and I chose a person who witnessed the war, and wrote a letter to them. Below is my letter to Mr. Peter Van Pels, a member of one of the families who stayed with the famous Anne Frank family in hiding.
